Communication/Journalism 369 or Applied Information Technology 369-Web Design
In Web Design, students will learn how to create web sites. Students will learn HTML and CSS and how to use Adobe Dreamweaver. Students will also learn graphic design and how to work with and create images in Adobe Photoshop. Students will also develop project management skills.
Class consists of demo/lectures and lab time.
Grades are determined by the completion of weekly class exercises, as well as two final projects: one individual website (personal portfolio or for a family business, etc.) and one group projects for an on or off-campus client.
The class is taught in the C/J Mac Lab, although the software is also avaialble for the PC. Although there are no formal prerequisites, students with prior experience with some graphics program (Photoshop, InDesign), video editing (Final Cut Pro), OR basic programming skills (Java, Visual Basic) have found the course's learning curve easier to manage.
