Bruce Evan Blaine, Ph.D.

Through a series of meta-analytic reviews I have investigated the effectiveness of obesity treatment for weight loss, the psychological consequences of obesity treatment, and the risk factors for poor response to obesity treatment.

I am interested in the dynamic relationship between depression, weight control, and obesity, with particular interest in the causal effect of depression on later weight gain, as well as the behavioral, cognitive, and physiological mechanisms by which depression leads to poor weight control.
